ok i have a pc that runs windows me and does not have an ethernet port on the tower i got past this by using a usb lead but on installing the disc it says cant use with windows me please help me get round this.

sorry to say that virgin does not support this old operating system it says so when you try to install it you need a new operating system my friend had same problem so i know this is truehttp://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/faqs/minspec.html minimum spec is windows 2000 pro

It would be helpful if you provided more info.

Does the Virgin Media software disc allow ME as an operating system? If not, there is nothing that we can do.

Do you have a network connector on your pc? If not, you need to get a Network Interface Card for it.

I presume the broadband service is terminated by a modem. Do you intend to have more than one pc connected? If so, a router will be needed and perhaps you can achieve a start up with another pc that has an operating system that is compatible.

We need more info to help.

virgin media dont support me as old need to upgrade operating system not vista but xp home try yoyotech as doing good deals on xp home around £60
