. . . . When you go into stores, it's all size - 0 lol
I am a young woman, almost 19
very slender athletic built person with curves
I can wear ambercrombie and stuff but I am so sick of these women images. I wish we had healthier looking models nowadays, it's just so sad to see these girls and guys who try to look . . well . . starved
when will they change this? It's unhealthy
anyone with me on this?
are you pro or con?

I am not fat, I have actually had my options open to model throughout my life
When I say curves, I mean. I am thin but I have chest for crying out loud and all these puny shirts are not fitting properly because they are suppose to look good on girls who don't have any because they don't take care of themselves

i dont shop at ambercrombie just because they seem a bit racist to me. sorry if i offend anyone. its just that whenever i go into that store of look through their catalog you rarely see any people of color.
i do agree with you about women models being too skinny. if a woman is over 5'5" and can fit into a size 0 you've got to wondering if it has something to do with her eating habits. i do understand that some women would wear size 0 but i would think its because they're smaller than the average women. i'm 5'2" and i wear size 2. i'm happy with my body.
i don't know if this will ever change but i do believe it should.

It all depends on whats being modeled, if your looking at the fashion industry then more then likely the model will be thinner because the designer has his clothes in mind, not the audience paying attention to the woman wearing them. They cover most of the runway and fashion shows, on the other hand the curvy and shorts models do sometimes get these jobs too but they are mostly used for glamour modeling (Maxim, King, FHM, etc). When you are that curvy the focus goes from selling an item to showing yourself because the curves are what you are modeling. But its mostly stuff you cant just put on tv like implied nudes up top in swimwear, and lingerie including thongs and g strings. The editor plays a role in this as well because when photoshoping final products its faster on a thin model, when they turn and bend certain ways they dont get a fat crease that has to be edited out in different ad layouts. In glamour mags you usually get a short spread consisting of a few pics so it doesnt have to be as on point, and of course no one notices the small things not touched when theres a pair of boobs with some hands covering them or a butt in a thong.

Some countries are inacting laws making it illegal for models to be below a healthy weight and BMI on the physician's scale. Go to YouTube and find the video about the model being airbrushed and changed to look good enough to be a poster. It's all so unreal anyway. It will support your view of society's ignorance when a dozen people answer this with insults for bigger people....just watch, they will want to know if you are fat. Such ignorance.....

A little.....America is getting fatter not skinnier :-)) I don't understand why the stores have to copy the models when nobody can fit the clothes! I'm not fat, but I know a lot of people that are...

i am so with you . In some cultures hips are in and so are butts . it seems like in this country if you are not a size 0 you are considered fat . I attribute this attitude to why so many young women now have anorexic behavior . You are so right . good luck .

I'm sick of them too. People Like Angelina Jolie and Kiera Knightly who weigh, like, 100 pounds are disgusting to me.
But I guess i've always thought, if these girls are stupid enough to starve themselves, why would i idolize them?

I agree 100%....they aren't natural...no one should wear a size 0...what is that? I commend Dove for their efforts to stop this..
