Michael Strahan of the New York Football Giant had to pay 15+ mil of the 21 mil he is worth in a divorce. He also has to leave his house and pay 91% of the kids schooling. If she got 15 and he got 6 does it seem fair that he has to pay a 1/4 mill a year more in child support?

Did you read the rest of the article? Judges tend to not take sympathy on guys who videotape their wife's nude sister and have several mistresses.

Child support is for the children. the rest is for the wife. That is typical (although a lot more money than normal, because he is filthy rich). The wife gets half of the estate. She gets more if she has proven that he cheated on her, which she did. the child support and tuition is calculated from a state formula, based on each person's percentage of their combined income, and the number of children. Even if he quits football, he has to pay it all.

How do you avoid a nasty divorce??? You never get married.
This is why prenupts come in handy. The average person may think it is excessive, but this couple is on a greater scale as far as finances than most. I am sure it is close to the percentages the avg person pays. Nowadays, the saying is not "Wow, your getting married?" it is "getting burried" ha ha and for the record, if it does not affect me, I really do not giva F--K. but had to put in My 2 cents.

Personally, no, I don't think it's fair at all, b/c I'm pretty sure Jean Strahan could live SOMEWHAT comfortably with her two kids on 15.1 mil.
HOWEVER, that IS the pre-nup he signed, his lawyers drew up, so the right thing to do would be honor it, and pre-nups don't really deal with kids, just with the spouse.

break it down, 15.1 to her and 1/4 to his kids for support which he helped bring into this world. Poor guy sure wish I had that problem. Better hope he doesnt ever get hurt or lose his job. The arrearages would be a killer

There are steps you are able to take devoid of an lawyer. in the adventure that your ex is antisocial you are able to petition the court docket to record a warrant for his arrest. With that putting over his head, all he would opt for to do is get pulled over in his fancy new motor vehicle for working a end sign and be hauled into penal complex. His bail would be set on the quantity of youngster help he owes. His oldest chum or latest fling will submit his bail for him and voila, you're paid. you will locate those varieties on the courthouse. you do no longer opt for an lawyer for this. it somewhat is minimize and dry. in case you have a baby help order and no funds are coming in- you have have been given a case. good success.

I think the whole thing is crazy. While its the courts decision, I am appalled when women bring some guy to the cleaners. No one should have to suffer, no matter the circumstances. It should be about the basics and luxury should have no say in it.

Um yes. It's fair. I mean they are his children and the mother probably doesn't have a job that pays as well and the children's standard of living would be less because of it and that would be unfair to the kids.

He signed the prenup.Get over it, your not paying her. If his lawyer is that big a fool to come up with the worst prenup in Sports he should take him to court.
