The next step will probably be backwards, society will have to start all over again to evolve in a forward direction. I wouldn't hold my breath or even expect it in our lifetime! Good question though!

Too long for any documentation. Why? Because evolution isn't real. There is no scientific proof of evolution, just a theory and hypothesis. If it were real, we would see changes daily, because we would always be at the million year mark no matter what. If indeed we evolved then why don't you see changes in people now?

All species on our planet is in a constant state of evolution. This is a good question. Because the answer is constantly, the next question I ask my self is: what evolutionary changes will our species undergo, before they become extinct.

The last step in evolution is generally thought to be 'lactose tolerance' in many European and other heritages. Most adult mammals cannot digest milk at all.
Most likely, we are negating many changes we might otherwise see by using science and medicine to overcome issues our biology might otherwise be trying to address.
In some ways, it seems as if we as a species are moving backwards- more allergies, more diabetes, more poor vision and teeth...

take a look around you. the next step has already started to occur. evolution doesn't just happen all at once. it occurs gradually. so slow that it can't easily be seen. we've already started going into the next ice age. but we won't be around to see it neither will our children or our great grandchildren.

in 10,000 years we will officially turn into manbearpigs (1/2 man 1/2 bear and 1/2 pig) but then Al Gore will have his body unfroze into our time and join forces with all the other animals (Deer, Possems, Chicken-Squirrels and Retarded Rob Schneider Carrots) and take over our world and kill all manbearpigs and tell everyone "I killed the Manbearpigs and this time I am super serioul!"

one small change that i have heard is people with six toes on each foot. I know someone who has one(well two).and then naturally the six toed shoe would be the next step.
