There's a reason that there are laws like this. Since he was born in a different country, no matter how patriotic he is he will always have a soft spot for that country. Even if he makes a strong effort, he will always favor that country over the others, and we want a President who is unbiased. Congress would only change this law if there was a real reason or a better solution, and just so that Schwarzenagger can run is neither.

Unfortunately for Arnold, our constitution is not easily changed. Changing it, in this case, and IMHO would be a mistake. I do like and agree with a lot of what Arnold says, but if we change the Constitution to allow him to run, that means that other foriegn born people would be free to run as well and that could present a problem.
Not only would it set a bad precedent, if we tried to change the constitution Arnold would probably be dead by the time 2/3 of the states ratify it.

First of all there would have to be an act of Congress (Democratic controlled) and then it would take a 2/3 majority of them to even put the measure before the people. Once the general electorate gets it 2/3 of the states would need to ratify it as a Constitutional amendment. Do you think Arnold at age 60 would live long enough? The average Constitutional Amendment takes from10 to 20 years to get from conception to ratification.

Won't work. A petition will not change the Constitution, no petition will ever get the votes of the congress or be for it to be put on the convention floor, and ratification means nearly a decade or more for a fluke to happen, and this would only be put in play for him, that ain't gonna happen.
And, the majority of the country has to agree to this change, after congress would see it through (which won't ever happen). Now, whereas the majority of the country is still white and black, no way will they ever allow a decendent of an illegal Mexican or Mexican or mixture thereof (which means Richardson is wasting money and time), Nazi, Asian, Middle Eastern or Jew, nor any of these decedents to become president for the good of this country and its heritage (that shed so much blood between us to put the United States on the map), Lieberman is an illegal candidate and would be stripped from office like lightning if that ever happened - he really lost his mind.
Bush pretends to be a Nazi and real Nazi's like Puttin don't like him, he was born here and has real U.S. roots that date back to 1776 (which is not Mexican upon inception of the Constitution of the United States), he is simply a freak of nature I guess, and he did fool us, won't happen again.
Some of us are smart enough to know that you are seriously barking up the wrong tree - and nonwhite and nonblack.
Obviously you are uneducated on this issue as well. Go read the Constitution and go to school to become a Constitutional Attorney and see even then, how far you will not get, not even in the future will this be viable, as the majority of us will always have a clue, thank goodness.
While you are at it, learn what 'white' and 'black' means in this country, as most of those who are not still don't understand the racism between some that are, nor do you understand why, or even why the decendents thereof are against racism and seperatism in this country.
Our history is complex to you, and not as complex when we study and understand the civil wars and the tragedies of racism within our roots. To surpass any of this is your ignorance, and your refusal to respect this country and its heritage. God Bless You.

It requires either a national constitutional convention to require Congress to forward an Amendment to the states for voting, or Congress voting to forward the Amendment.
See Article V of the Constitution.

i could help ammeding the form yet no longer in basic terms so Arnold might desire to run. If we as a rustic are arranged to vote for women folk and blacks (which would possibly on no account have befell if the founding fathers had something to assert approximately it) then it won't be a project to vote for somebody who became born in yet another u . s . a . then became a US citizen.

Congress has to agree on the wording of the amendment and then be placed on the ballot in each state. There it must be passed by at least 3/4's of the states.
My high school social studies may be a little rusty but I think that's the general idea.
