I have a theory that - especially in women - conception brings on an insanity.
Every parent I've ever met has been insanely protective and supportive of their child.

having kids sends you totally do-lally, and usually sends you IQ down a few points also.
but you wouldn't change a thing, would you? :-)

I was really over protective with my first child. But then as I had another then another that slowly went away. But I always felt that I and no one else knew what was best for my kids so only I took care of them. I wouldn't have a baby sitter or anyone else care for them. They turned out ok, but not too sure about me !

yes, you're right! I was a drinker, a smoker...wasted my life before my son came along...now i dont even stand next to a smoker in the streets if i'm with my son! i watch him to make sure he's breathing when he's a sleep! He was born with serious bowel condition and needed 2 ops to save his life, so i think i may be more insane than most!
