I Have a 75' K5 Blazer. The starter recently went out and i purchased a new one and installed it and it started fine. Then, the next day i went out to start it and it wouldn't. I turn the key and the voltage meter barley goes up then when i turn to start it it acts like the battery dies. Can any one help me?

If your volt meter barely goes up, you probably need a new battery, or the starter you installed is draining your battery (some where there's a short or poorly connected).

Take the battery in and have it load tested to see if it's still good, if it is check the connections.

Check for loose battery conections and where the positive wire is connected to the battery. Be sure the small screws are clean and tight on the starter solonoid also.
If your battery is more than 3 yrs old do the following:
Check the battery voltage. It should have a bare minimum of 12.5 volts with the motor off. If not charge it @ 2 amps. with an automatic battery charger for 4 hrs. re-check battery voltage. If you get less than 12.5 volts the battery is suspect. Pull it out and have Auto Zone do a load test on it.
It sounds from here you have a bad cell or it's low on acid / distilled water.

Good luck.

Did you shim the starter? The small block chevy's are notorious for the starter hitting the flywheel at a bad angle and it will not turn at all, you'll just get sort of a metal on metal clang or clunk sound. The new starter should have had a thin pisce of metal with it (shim) or you may have had one with the old started you took off. The shim goes in between the starter, and the engine block. GOOD LUCK! well you need to explain better, I assume it wont turn over, check your cables and make sure nothing is shorted, make sure your connection line to the vehicle, ( On the starter relay one battery cable one size 10 to the vehicle,) make sure that lug is good,

Feel the battery cable after you attempt to start for 10 seconds, if the cable is hot to the touch , your starter is shot, even if it was a rebuilt, seems lately they buy the rebuilds from Malaysia, JUNK<

Sounds like your battery connection , or cable connection on your starter is bad . Clean and tighten them and try again .
