Installing antivirus??

i have the desktop with win vista.. connected to linksys router(with dsl from att) and my dad's win xp laptop with wireless adapter.. will both computer run on one anitvirus.???

And how do i make a secure connection with only both this systems (laptop and pc)..

Each computer must have its own anti-virus software. As long as both computers are behind the router, you're at least somewhat secure. If you're really paranoid, you can enable the firewall on both computers.
