When choosing a partner, most of us look for things like shared values, mutual attraction, a good sense of humor, maybe a trust fund and poor health. But that’s because we’re not famous like Nicole Richie, whose main criterion is a circumcised penis.

Nicole Richie will only date circumcised men.

‘The Simple Life’ star insists it is very important to her that any potential boyfriend has undergone the private procedure - which involves the foreskin being surgically removed the penis.

She said: “The one thing I always look for in a guy is for them to be circumcised.”

Nicole, who is believed to be expecting a baby with Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, also revealed that marriage and children are something she has always wanted.

The 25-year-old star - whose adopted parents, singer Lionel Richie and Brenda, had an acrimonious divorce - said: “The world isn’t perfect, but I’m optimistic about family and marriage.”

Rumours about Nicole’s pregnancy have been circulating for months, while it has also been reported that she and Joel are planning to marry this summer.

However, Nicole’s representative is still refusing to comment on the matter, only saying: “We have nothing to report.”

I’ve watched The Simple Life a time or two, and I’ve seen how socially inappropriate Nicole Richie can be. Even still, I can’t imagine how that conversation happens in the getting-to-know-you stage. Is it like…eyes meet across a crowded room, a little smile plays on her lips. He walks over to her, her heart starts beating a little faster (maybe the coke just kicked in.) He says “Can I buy you a drink?” She looks up at him demurely, twisting her hair around her finger, and says “Your dick: is it cut?”

Never mind, I take it back. I can totally imagine that happening.

It's a personal preference - I don't hold it against her. (granted, she doesn't exactly rate all THAT high in terms of expectations in my book anyway)

I know lots of women who are "unfamiliar" with the uncircumcized penis (especially in the United States) - and hence, don't think it looks "normal" to them. And they've heard all the mis-information & rumours regarding uncircumcized men... so, until western society starts changing it's mind about the "necessity" of this surgical mutilation forced upon the men of our society -- this will continue.

How does an ugly Joel Madden date Nicole Richie?

It just goes to show how simple minded she is. Maybe she should get her labia removed before any guy should sleep with her. Face it, that's the same as asking a guy to get a perfectly natural part of his penis removed for no reason at all. It just goes to show you how brainwashed some people are in the USA about the natural penis.
If it was so bad then why are over 85% of the worlds men natural still and very few have problems.

As the saying goes "if it ain't broke then don't fix it"

Well, the first thing to say is I don't know how anyone can take all this celebrity hype seriously. Their PR staff will dream up anything to keep them in the public eye and the $ rolling in. Even if it is true - which it may not be - so what? So the second thing to say is that she is entitled to her own opinion just like anyone else. I prefer circumcised men, so do some other women. But for Ritchie to advertise it in the media for a gullible, celebrity - crazy public is just bad taste and demeaning to her personally.

That's just creepy. Sounds like she's been brainwashed, for a start, but then would you honestly care that much in a relationship? After all, if she finds a perfect guy, she can always get him cut (not that I recommend it). But how would she know what she likes if she's never been with an uncut guy? Most of the men in the world are like that. I prefer it!

I'm already circumcised but if I weren't I would't have minded doing it for Nicole Ritchie.

I think she's limiting herself to only 20-30% of the world's male population, but she can have any preference she wants. She's entitled to that. Just like I'm entitled to think she's not attractive.

Good for her . It's her body she is well within her rights to decide what does or does not enter it.
The conversation that precedes asking for a date and the other persons accepting that offer should be a 2 way well crafted interview process. Every step in that process has a continue or retreat option so once Ms.Richie finds out that the guy is uncut she knows that it's pointless to continue so she retreats. Since it's very important to her she finds out very early-smart girl.
