I am from MPLS and yesterday I was on a city bus going home and a lady was on it that was telling people that she was just released from the hospital because she was one of the cars that fell in the mississippi. I believe everyone in the area has been effected, I never recieved so many phone calls from family members before.

The whole country is falling apart.

My co-worker is from MN. She used to drive across the very bridge to get to work. She and her family all still have friends and family who were near it when it happened. As far as I know she hasn't been directly affected as in a personal loss but she was still upset knowing all about being there.

Only the fact the style of that bridge was made the same as an old train tresle: Train tresles were made to go across and not stopping, stopping put more stress then what they were made for and years of bumper to bumper traffic is the equivalent of that. The fact that they didn't act sooner to replace (instead of "repair" this fact is appalling. Many people died for no reason.
