Is this normal? It's actually the complete opposite for me because I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and I'm usually ALWAYS constipated and I only use the toilet once a day or less. Now, I am using atleast 2 -3 times a day with intestinal cramping, diahrea/loose stools for a week an a half or slightly longer.

Any relation to starting labor soon (in a few weeks?) or just something that comes with pregnancy?

I have had two babies and I have only had the constipation side of it. I don't know anyone that has had your issues. My sister-in-law has something similar and she was diagnosed with a form of colitis. Maybe you don't have IBS anymore but now a form of colitis, those symptoms you describe sound like that. Call your Dr and see about getting another colonosicpy test done.

It could be a sign of impending labor. I have irritable bowel syndrome also. During pregnancy I also had diarrhea alot. Before pregnancy I would only be able to go once a week sometimes two weeks! My son is now 6.5 months old and I go 4 or 5 times a day! I feel so much better now. Your body completely changes during pregnancy and nothing will be the same afterward. Good luck!

Hospitals will tell you to stay home until you are having contractions that are about 5 minutes a part - for about an hour. They will tell you to take a hot bath (which you already have done, ask if you are hydrated - very important)..... You can call the hospital - but it honestly doesnt sound like you are in full labor. Time your contractions and call the hospital when you get around every 7 minutes.... best of Luck

I have IBS as well and I've been getting loose bowel movements with really bad cramping. The doctor told me that IBS usually is more pronounced in pregnancy, and symptoms can change drastically.
Hope this helps.

i have IBS also and i was told that you could have it either get worse or better in my case worse
i have the diarrhea side so i was not having much fun early in my pregnancy
i also know that this is common in later pregnancy because the baby can press on the bowel or you can eat something that will trigger it off
the only relief i could get was by drinking peppermint tea and having activa yogurts
if this becomes really serve then you need to contact your doctor he may be able to give you something

Be happy!!! I was constipated when I was about 30 weeks or so. I was trying to push it out. I felt like my son was going to come with it. Maybe try getting more iron in your diet and less fiber. Good luck

They say that the runs can be a sign of labor coming. I know i had softer BMs a few weeks before labor.

its common for women to have diarrhea in early pregnancy and when they are close to due date. Its ur hormones making u sick to your stomach so thats why u feel that way. Nothin to worry about.

It can be a sign of labour. It's your body's way of flushing it all out so that you don't do it in the later stages of labour when you are pushing!!
