Is this built in sound, or external speakers?
If built-in:
-make sure nothing is plugged into the mini audio jack on the laptop, porting sound there.
-hit the volume UP button on the laptop, until the sound is all the way up.
-right-click the speaker in the system tray and open Adjust Audio Properties. Make sure Mute is not checked. Click Advanced button. Raise all volumes to highest. UNcheck an Mute boxes. Click Options. Make sure Playback is selected. Check every box. Click OK. Under Volume, click Advanced button. Make sure Digital Output Only is UNchecked, and adjust the Bass and Treble to higher settings (if available). Click OK.
-Try plugging headphones or powered speakers into the mini audio jack (green on the side) to see if you get audio. If you do, the internal speakers may be damaged. If you do not, you may need to reinstall the sound drivers
Installing sound drivers:
Right click My Computer... Properties... Hardware tab... Device Manager... Sound, video and game controllers... look for any device that has a ? or ! and open it. Install or Update the driver.
If you have external speakers, make sure they have power, and are plugged into the GREEN mini audio connector.

A lot of things Buy external speakers, check you device manager and see if there is a hardware problem, if there is you need to take your laptop in. Check your sound levels. Go to the control panel and select sound.
