Personally, I don't claim to have any insight into Bush's mind, or that of another. I have no idea what Bush wants me to believe; all I have is what the press reports concerning things, which may or may not accurately represent reality on this, as on any other, point.
As to how sophisticated terrorists are, let us not kid ourselves, many of them have received good educations, and there is no evidence that willingness to resort to violence to get your way is genetically tied to lack of intelligence.
To have eluded capture as long as the surviving terrorists have is indicative of considerable resourcefulness and cleverness at keeping out of the hands of the officials looking for them. Try not paying a couple of bills for a while and see how good you are at evading a skip tracer or a repo man, folks, and I'm sure you'll get my point pretty quickly.
Certainly they have shown considerable cleverness in the 9/11/2001 event. Some of their more recent attempts make me wonder if their best minds are gone, but more likely it represents the fact that you can't plan something like this without leaving tracks, and they're being tracked by the intelligence equivalent of superb blood-hounds.
Sophisticated:? As much, I'd say, as most of us on Yahoo Answers, and more than most of the folk I've seen produce answers here. As sharp as the top answerers here? I should think most of them are not. Again, remember, in a terrorist organization (like any other) the majority of the members are just muscle to get things done; you only need a small handful of really, really sharp people to do the planning.

Just like any other group of people, some are,some are not. There are many more "Sophisticated" ones now then there were before we attacked Iraq.
Before the Neo-Cons go ballistic, this is simply because we cause more people to join the terrorists because of our actions. As a result, logically there must be at least a few more.
Bush wants us to believe that we should be afraid of everything and that only he and the GOP can protects us. If this were true, we would be safer now and there would be less terrorists, not more.

Nope they are only a bunch of peopel who are willing to die to strike a blow at American's the people they are taught to hate.
It isn't hard to start a hate group because all you need is a group of people who want to raise their kids to hate a certain group of people and go about their hate teachings.
It isn't 100% though because of the different tastes in people their will be a percentage that will actually like and in some cases love people that they were taught to hate, the outcasts.
These terrorists are coming from countries that have been taught that America owes them something, and American's are evil and so on and so fourth.
They are not intelligent at all they are just ignorant and plentiful.

They are sophisticated enough to fly planes into the world trade center after two previous attempts to destroy it during Clinton's presidential terms. Too bad he was in the oral office instead of doing something to try to stop it like Bush is doing.

Yes, to coordinate attacks like the ones on Sept. 11 you have to be sophisticated. If you think they are a bunch of dumb towel heads sitting in caves in the middle east, you are sorely mistaken. They are very media savvy and savvy about american culture.

If it was a private citzen, we would have already put him away. So....what's the hold up? Hasn't he killed enough of our kids yet? You are going to wait till he get's us all killed! Our kids needs a chance to live. I know I didn't think about the government killing my kids when I was having them, or I would not have had any.
