Let you in on a not-so-well-kept secret. I, and probably most others, use brand-name ink while the printer is in warranty. After that, it is not cost-effective (unless you have a very expensive printer) to get the printer fixed. After the warranty expires, I guy generic.

Lexmark makes the DELL printers. In some case the cartridges are the same- but not all.

What model do you have?
