The Congress passed ethics reform yesterday...How come Republicans never did this while they were in control of Congress for the past six years? Hmmmm

I JUST . . . DON'T . . . BELIEVE . . . IT!

Pork-barrel spending rose at unprecedented levels for the 12 years that the GOP controlled Congress and absolutely NOTHING was done about it. Now, a day after Congess passed legislation to shine some light on the earmarks, you're blaming this issue on the DEMOCRATS?

That's chutzpah, for sure. A severe lack of cognitive gray matter, but lots of chutzpah.

But the scary thing is the number of right-wingers who are behind you on this. Sometimes, I wish I were also the type of person who could just accept things without having to look at the facts. It would make my life so much simpler.

Democrats didn't even get to pass any bills when DeLay and Frist ruled congress. So the "pork" for the Democrats was very minimal. It all went to the Republicans. Look up Ted Stevens "bridge to nowhere" if you're interested in learning anything.

Clinton left office with a surplus, and the national debt was around 4.5 trillion. Bush has run a deficit each year, and he's doubled the national debt. Defense spending, combined with huge tax reductions for wealthy individuals and corporations caused this.

yes the anemic pork spending to help our farmers and victims of hurricane katrina suggested by the demcontrolled senate would decrease the deficit slightly. NOw if we bring the troops home and encourage the iraqi's to cowboy up and take over their country, we would not only decrease the defecit greatly but would save soldiers lives as well

Isn't it sad when the American people have to have things hidden in bills to get money spent here at home instead of ALL of it going into a WAR NO ONE wants?

Apparently, these lefties don't object to the corrupt practice of pork.
