I am in a play and it starts in a couple hours. I am the main character and I know all my lines well, but could you share some tips? I don't get too nervous, but there are plenty of things that could go wrong. So any tips?

Go with the flow. It's great that you know your lines well, but under pressure even the best actors have dropped a line or two. Know the story. That way if someone drops a line you can help move things forward by ad-libbing.

Do the traditional theatre circle with the cast before the show. I think it helps show that you are united together as one before you go out on stage. You need to encourage and support each other. Show each other love and respect and then go have a great show!

What I do is eat a little something for nerves(in case I do throw up!), and as I'm getting ready, go through the lines in my head and my entrances and exits, costume changes, etc. Then I put my things where they need to go I take a couple deep breathes. Maybe if your partner is nervous talk to him and try to keep your mind off of it until the show starts. Right before you go on take a deep breath and tell your self to have fun with it. It's a play so don't think about messing up, think about doing great. My theatre always gets in a circle and hold hands and go around the circle squeezing each others hand before plays and the pressures off. Everyone feels and look great.

No matter what happens, just keep going. If someone messes up a line, work with it. If you make a mistake, dont make a face, act like nothing happened and the audience will never know. Sell your character and have fun. Add lots of energy and personality. Remember make everything big because things on the stage get lost to the audience so you have to make everything much bigger. Project your voice loud && clearly. Most importantly just smile and have fun. Break a leg.
