An LAN ethernet Jack looks like a phone jack but has 8 contacts instead of 4 and is slightly bigger, look for one on the back of your PC

Hello,

There are two ways to find the LAN card, try the first:

At your desktop:

1. Right click on the "My Network Places" and select Properties

If your computer has a LAN card you'll find it there and then.

It will display a text as "Local Area Connection"

Second option:

1. Open the Cabinet (tower)

2. On the mother board there will be slots locate yourself to the white color slot, it will be the smallest slot on the mother board.

NOTE: DO NOT SWITCH ON THE POWER SUPPLY WHILE OPENING THE CABINET.

I'd suggest you to contact your system administrator to get your system updated.

Thanks,

Arun
