1- Don't really care about him or the record.
10- Hate him so much that I wish he were dead.
My personal opinion would be a 3.
1) I have more things to worry about than him.
2) I believe in the phrase "Innocent untill proven guilty".
3) As a baseball fan, I too realize that this is all just a game.

alot of complaints about his accomplishments, yes he has done lots. But this question is for the people who hate Bonds, thats why my number 1 isn't "Love him!" or that sort of thing.

Your scale doesn't really measure people that really like Bonds though, your 1 should be 5.
However, on your scale, I am a 1
I feel sorry for people that say 10, I truly do.
In your others, I am
1) I have more things to worry about than him and
3) As a baseball fan, I too realize that this is all just a game.
Again, I would be shocked by the people that select 2) because he has admitted steroid use, there is nothing to prove. He just hasn't tested positive for it.

2. Forget the "innocent until proven guilty" crap. He took steroids or some other body altering substance. He's not the only guy. Even the stuff you buy at GNC is a heck of a lot more potent than anything available to guys 30 years ago. My whole high school football team took Creatine. That can help you pack on 20lbs in an offseason. If guys weren't on 'roids, they were all on some sort of supplement in combination with crazy work out regiments that were non existent in years past. 40 years ago, guys painted or drove delivery trucks in the offseason! This may not be the "steroids era" but it is the "performance enhancing supplement era". Bonds is hands down the best hitter of our generation. Everybody had access to the same stuff, and MLB never tested for steroids until they started getting major pressure from Congress and the media. Steroids revived baseball in '98 with the HR chase between Sosa and McGwire. MLB knew they weren't "natural" but chose to look the other way and just enjoy the show.
I don't like Barry Bonds, he seems like a jerk. I don't hate him either. Basically he got burned by the media and tried to keep to himself and avoid them. Now the media is practically burning him at the stake. I almost feel sorry for him with the abuse he is taking. I find it highly unlikely that he didn't take steroids, but he is far from the only one. If Major League Baseball had that much of a problem with guys using steroids, they would have banned them and tested for them when every other major sport did. I liked it a lot better before they started making players testify under oath for steroid use from 5-10 years ago. Sometimes its best not to know everything about your heroes, you may just realize that they're human just like us.

It's not a matter of hatred towards Barry Bonds. Just the matter of people being "anti-drug" and "trying to preserve the game of baseball".
I think he's not a bad person, from meeting him so many times at work (EA Sports) and in our old neighborhood. He was cordial, not snobbish or being a jerk. He signed autographs, posed for pictures and shook hands and one time he was on crutches and in pain. Barry took it all in stride to accommodate the well wishers in all his discomfort.
He is "hated" just because of what the media tells the public.

I guess I am a 5. I care enough about Bonds because I am a big baseball fan.
However, I don't hate him. I don't want him to die.
Why are your only 2 choices "hating Bonds" or "not caring?" Aren't there other choices too??

You have no column to check off where any of us can give Bonds credit for his accomplishments. Also, baseball is a game that is played for the fans and for all of us to enjoy, wishing someone were dead and/or the use of the word "HATE" should not apply to anything associated with baseball.

id say a 6.5
i hate him because of his smug attitude and his "im better than the world" demeanor
but i cant wish he were dead
just injured. something serious but non-lethal like a torn ACL. something to put him out for his career BEFORE he can break Hank Aaron's record
call records what you want to, but to me, something that prestigious wasn't meant to be broken by someone with so much specualtion and allegations surrounding him
