As I recall, he's more mischeivious in folklore than truly mean-spirited...

...but then I also believe most of the problems we have with each other are matters of pride and intolerance, not whether we're "right" for each other. It's really easy to forget that those things about the other person that drive you crazy are the complementary qualities that can make you such a good team (filling in each others gaps, undergirding each other's weaknesses and blind spots).

That innate sense of someone else's "gap-filling" quality is a lot of what attracts us to certain people in the first place...then we start trying to make them act like us...and look out. Trouble's coming.
