I did.......I had gotten a bonus and wanted to go shopping and play around all day, so I called in sick, told them I had a migraine and I couldn't come in. I went to the Mall and when I was done there went to Wal-mart, shopping away and turned down an aisle and SMACK there she was, face to face with my boss. She was like, "Oh, you are feeling better" and I couldn't say anything, I was embarrassed and scared. LOL
But she never said a word about it or mentioned it ever again.

I love my job and all the people I work with too, that wasn't the issue. We just get so swamped and put in so many hours and sometimes work 7 days a week, I just wanted a day off to do what I wanted and to ask for one just for the heck of it would have been denied at the time.

no... here, although we call it sick time, it's actually "paid personal leave" meaning it's our personal time and we can use it weather we're sick or not

LOL yeah... Everyone at my work knew I had horses and I called up saying I had had a fall and was in too much pain to come in. Instead of going to work for a few days we took the horses to a friends property and had a blast. I'm normally way to responsible for that kind of thing though, with school I didn't care but work I felt guilty... I actually quit a job because I had been there just under 12 months had NEVER taken a day off always worked extra hours etc and I got offered a ride on a really nice horse for a show and they wouldn't let me take it off, I never showed up again. Not really a good way to go about it but hey I didn't want to pass up the ride! I had time off school for showing, vets visits, farriers visits, clipping time, pretty much anything :)

No, that hasn't happened to me. Last time I called in sick was about four years ago.

Why would she need to? And no I have never been caught - but I don't do that too often either.
