If congressional Democrats seem a little hysterical these days, it just might be due to news that the surge counteroffensive in Iraq is yielding some progress.

Rush Limbaugh and other conservative pundits have made the observation in recent years that for Democrats to win, America must lose. Their point is that with a Republican in the White House, good news on the economy, the war, and just about any other major issue, is good for Republicans and bad for Democrats.

Liberals in the media and in Washington have taken their political hatred for their enemies a step further by acitvely campaigning against the war (that they voted for), and by leaking secrets about the ways we fight terrorism in order to make the the "spying nosy freedom-hating constitution-shredding Bush" strawman argument.

It really makes me sick because if it were Clinton in the White House, they wouldve been all for it as long as he was all for it. and Clinton wouldve been all for it if the opinion polls were all for it.

What we have is nearly an entire party in Washington unwilling to see through military action to its logical final conclusion because they cannot stomach troop loss, the cost, or being on the wrong side of an opinion poll. The democrats have become a wimpy anti-war, anti-military party of the far left. If their political enemies are in the White House, they have made it abundantly clear that from now on they are not going to cooperate or support in any way leadership that doesnt fit their extreme unamerican mold.

I dont know about you, but I actually want to WIN wars and think we can and Im getting sick of these rich people in washington constantly giving aid and comfort to our enemies. George Washington would be rolling in his grave if he saw how blatantly unpatriotic an entire politcal party could be advocating and anouncing defeat during wartime. Could you imagine people in the continental congress passing resolutions saying we shouldnt be fighting, and the house leader saying that we already lost the revolution?

Yeilding some progress. How do you measure that? The number of deaths hasn't dropped. The number of insurgents captured/killed hasn't changed perceptibly. Major blocs of the government are resigning. I'm having a hard time figuring out how that qualifies as success.

The economy? Sure, I'd have a great personal economy, too, if I could borrow three times my annual salary and never worry about paying it back, never put anything aside for retirement, never bother to maintain my house or save for my children's education, like the government is doing.

Your problem, friend, is that you are listening to the pundits, not looking at the facts. Democrats can win, and they will win. All the facts are on their side, no matter what the pundits say.

No they can't, its not the color, its the ideas. A lot of people vote for the person and not the party. That's why Democrats keep losing the White House. Democratic nominees tend to be idealists, not pragmatists.

Rush Limbaugh doesn't know what he is talking about...we could have a complete turnaround in Iraq and the Republicans would still lose, as people do not want to risk getting into another war like Iraq. Limbaugh and people like him say that to make Democrats look un-American....however the fact that he is saying that about fellow Americans makes him the un-American one, as well as a complete hypocrite.

Of course the dems are invested in defeat. Anything else would not be good for them. It's sad to see Americans root for the worst.

That is were they have placed themselves with their ultra-political correctness & their socialist (one step away from communistic) ideas! Maybe they all need to read the book 1984.

When libs win America wins. Quit listening to Rush and think for yourself. I am glad to hear that we are finally getting some stability in Iraq. I hope that means that we can soon bring our troops home and let the Iraqis take care of themselves. Isn't that what our objective is?

1. link us up to a real verifiable report on that progress

2, The minute one of you guys sites Rush Ocycontin LimpBucket about anything I dismiss. It's kind of the way you feel when one of us mentions Michael Moore. With one exception: right or wrong, Moore is a good person.

3. About that good economy... what are you talking about? Oh yeah, somebody told you...

Sad but true. The libs have put themselves in a position that in order for a dem to get elected, the iraq war needs to be a complete failure. Most of them are so full of hate that they would rather see the U.S. fail in Iraq so that they can have hillary as pres.
