I had been taking Ortho TriCyclen Lo for about a year before I recently switched to Seasonique. On Othro TriCyclen Lo, you are protected against unplanned pregnancies even during your inactive week of pills. During the week of my inactive pills, before my period started I had sex with my boyfriend without a condom, a day later I got my period (which was completely normal) and also my prescription for Seasonique, which I switched to three days afterwards. However, when I was reading the info for Seasonique it said that you are not protected for the first seven days of pills when starting Seasonique, however by the time I read this it was too late for me to use EC. Could I be pregnant? I have not had any additional bleeding after my period and have actually been almost completely unable to eat after starting Seasonique.

That warning about the first 7 days is for someone who is starting that medication without having previously taken anything.

You should always use a condom when changing pill brands... I have a 5 year old boy because I changed brands and did not use a condom. Luckily he was a welcomed surprise after all though.

It's possible, but not likely. Your OBGYN wouldn't be able to tell you anything until you have missed a period anyway.

Well, defiantely do not go off bc completely, you want to make sure you are staying protected. But, having said that, any type of bc can effect your skin, weight, moods, sex drive, etc. if it is hormone based. Ortho Tricyclen-Lo is still hormone based so the changes you're seeing are quite possibly from it. Often these things will mellow out and possibly go away entirely with a little time as it takes the body sometime to adjust to any new medication. However, if it doesn't go away within the first 3 months or so - or you feel you just simply can't wait that long to find out - talk to your doctor about trying a different type of bc. But, until then don't stop taking it, they can usually start you on something new with pretty much no lapse in time in between the old and new ones. Good luck

It's less likely for you to become pregnant since you were consistently using a hormonal method, without taking a break, before switching birth controls. The week that you menstruate is the week least likely for you to conceive, anyway, though it's not unheard of, so I'd say to just not worry about it :) because you're most likely not pregnant.

A hormonal birth control CAN affect your appetite, but perhaps you're being affected by stress a little as well. Try to eat several small meals during the day to get enough nutrients, and when your doctor comes back from vacation, discuss this symptom with him/her.

If you're really worried about it and can't get in touch with your doctor, you can take a pregnancy test as early as three weeks after having sex.

Don't think there is any possibility you could be pregnant. Ovulation does not occur until the 9th to 13th cycle day, and you were sexually active on cycle day 28. Sperm only lives in the female for 3 to 5 days, so even if you ovulated on cycle day 5, the opportunity would not have been there since the sperm would not have been viable. The Seasonique should not affect your appetite. Stop worrying and go EAT.

Even if you take them exactly as described you could be pregnant.

If you have any concerns about pregnancy go get a test.
