It seems to me your are fortunate it hasn't already fallen out! You have been beating it up for awhile I take it. It should only get healthy if you leave it alone.

Your hair will not fall out, I promise (well, unless it's already really damaged).
I just got finished transitioning from a relaxed look to the natural and my hair didn't start coming out by the fistfull or anything.
This is the way I did it...but keep in mind that everyone is different so it may or may not work for you:
My hair was just past my ears when relaxed. I stopped getting a relaxer in February and decided to let it grow out underneath. (I have a small frame and the last time I did that, I went for the gusto and cut it all off. It was really short and people mistook me for a teenage boy. Yeah. Yikes!). I just continued to wash it when it got dirty and I didn't put any unnecessary stress on it. For example, I didn't straighten it out w/ a hot comb or anything. I basically let it be two textures.
Once I had a fair amount of new growth, I went to a beautician who specialized in natural hair and she cut off the relaxed part. It left me with my natural hair and I love it. Wash and go!
Some people advocate that you wear a weave/braids/wig while your hair grows out but in actuality that stunts the growth of your natural hair. It completely defeats the purpose. Just wear the short 'fro for a while and it'll grow. Just be patient.
Good luck!

Your hair will not fall out if you go natural. But you will have to cut off the relaxed part of your hair. There is no way to revert that part back to natural.

Most people just stop getting relaxers for a while and let their natural hair grow. Once there is enough natural hair, they cut off the relaxer. This is called transitioning.

Here is a good website about going natural: www.motowngirl.com

I did it 9 months ago, and I wish I'd done it sooner! Good luck!

You most likely over lapped products. It is breaking, not really falling out. You need to treat your hair very gently. Shampoo only when needed, gently comb with wide tooth comb when wet, use both conditioning and protein treatments weekly. If you must blow dry- use a thermal heat protector before you do. Find a salon for your next color job but make sure that you tell them about this incident.

I used to process my hair once a month, but I realized that I didn't need to do that. I now only process my hair once a year. Since I've made that change my hair grows faster and healthier and it's even thicker. I wash and condition once a week...that's really all you need.

Wash and condition your hair once a week....
Every so often go to the salon...
Conditioning is the main thing, it helps soften your hair (so you can run a comb through it :P)

You'll be fine.

It won't fall out if you keep it moisturized and get hot oil treatments and keep it conditioned. But if you're gong to go natural, your best bet would be to cut it all off and start fresh, because the texture of your already chemical treated hair and the natural hair will make it look unhealthy and strange.

Just braid it and let your hair out sometimes, but since you relaxed your hair you still have to relax it. Since I relaxed my hair I ONLY relax it 1 or 2 a year.

It might be a good Idea but I am not a hair expert. As far as I know, some women,

NOT ALL,

have lost their hair because of processing. But then again, I am no expert, so check it out, with an expert who is

NOT,

bias or pro processing; and better yet, one who is also

NOT,

pro no processing.
