To me it sounds like that man doesn't have a grip on himself or had a hard time when he was younger with his own father or other male figures in his life. I think it's perfectly natural for a man to cry if something has happened that hurts so deeply, like the death of a parent, spouse, or child. And it doesn't make sense. If you hurt, are utterly confused, or just that tired that you start to cry, cry, get it out and don't let it build up. Pent up emotions are not a good thing.

It's funny I've seen guys with both their legs blown off scream with pain but they wouldn't cry. Two weeks before the same person had sat on his pack and cried like a baby because his friend had been killed. It all depends on the person, I can cry in front of my wife but no one else. My younger brother cried at the services when our mother and brother died. I didn't shed a tear in public. It's how your made up, not what the "rules" are!

It is a part of American culture which does not make sense. But American men think that it is macho to be an emotionless zombie.
Women usually do not like to see a man cry, so go and hide if you do.
In America, if a woman cries in front of a man, it is considered to be blackmail.

A real man DOES cry and I've seen it from my fiance and other men I am close to and have the utmost respect for. Any man too macho to cry is not a man at all. I have so much more respect and adoration for a man who can openly display his feelings than try to suppress for fear of seeming "unmanly." Screw that.
Give me a man who cries over a brute any day.

Of course men cry. Crying is a physical function if our body. This is totally a propaganda. People from previous eras made men and women believe that males are stronger and better than everyone else and it's their duty to "save" the world. It's a shame that people nowadays still believe this nonsense that made men hide their true feelings and overpress themselves and made also women to be believed that they were the non-strong sex.

Not crying or trying to be a "real" man is an excellent way to add to stress and kill yourself. It's one of the reasons men die earlier than women.

Men cry.
Some people dont approve. and thats their problem. not the problem of the crier.
I've seen the strongest men and women, in my family cry. Everyone just has certain buttons that finally push them to cry.
