instead its axis is perpendicular to the line between the sun and Earth. The most predictable effect of this change would be

b a big change in the length of the year
c a cooling of the equator
d a loss of seasonal variations at anorther and souther latitutes
e the elimination of ocean currents

It would be D since the tilt is what causes the seasons.

Hope I'm not around when this happens though, it would be quite a jolt.

a.... Day and night are produced by the rotation of the Earth, not the angle at which it rotates.
b.... The length of the year is based upon our travel around the Sun, not the angle at which the Earth rotates.
c.... There might be some change in the climate at the equator, but since the Sun will move to a position directly over the equator rather than varying 23 degrees on either side of it, I'd say it would more likely increase the equatorial temperature.
d.... Seasonal variations are caused by the angle at which the Sun's energy strikes the Earth. The greater the angle, the cooler the temperature. Removing the angle altogether would eliminate the variation. Thus it could eliminate seasonal climactic changes. The various latitudes would be perpetually summer, spring, fall, or winter, though the winter would likely not be as severe.
e.... Ocean currents are convection currents. The direction is due to the rotation of the Earth. The Sun will still be heating the water at the equator and the water will still cool as it goes north. So the currents will still exist.

considering the poles shift every couple thousand years....it would correct itself...but if it happend in the blink of an eye...it would depend on if the south or north pole was facing the sun.
Which ever is facing the sun would have infinate light and the other infinate night. There would be no seasons because seasons happen as a result from the tilting of the earth towards the sun. ocean currents would still exist, but would most likely be more noticable towards the pole facing the sun, exspecially if the moon was on that side at the same time. the equator would be the middle point for day and night...so in fact it would cool.....as far as a year goes...unless earth slowed its rotation around the sun the year would be normal....
but thats assuming the cosmic catastrophe strong enough to do this didnt DESTROY us.

It's all in the definition... what the heart knows, the mind and mouth have a hard time expressing. :-) Certainly, LDS have a much broader concept of truth than many other Christian sects. We accept that we do not yet know all the divine truths which may be revealed.... We know there is more coming, and that we can seek truth anywhere, guided by the Light within.

answer is "d" partly true for "e". The tilt of the earth caused seasonal variations. For example, right now it's winter in Australia but summer in the U.S. There would still be seasonal variations but they would be less pronounced and based solely on the earths changing distance from the sun. And these variations would not be geographically dispersed as they are now.

Also, ocean currents would almost certainly be affected. There would still be ocean currents but not as much variation in the currents strength and direction.

You shouldnt change the the tilts of the earth other wise, the wood chuck would become very confused. Imagine what if would do to him if there were no more seasons on the Earth.

this is a great question...it really gets the mind to think. My opinion, is whether it's tilted or not it will probably still rotate so there still would be night and day maybe just longer or shorter, ya know? Seasonal? Maybe the time frame would be different...but kudos to you for the question.

D: It would also cause immense ecological damage around equatorial parts with constant monsoons,(cyclones,typhoons,hurricanes),not to mention human hardship with floods etc.... .Also many crops north of the tropic of cancer and south of the tropic of capricorn would fail.

WHAT WAS I THINKING?????. Any thing that can jolt the Earth that hard is going to destroy everything on it anyway!!!!.
