I'm spose to have my period today (2nd one ever) and I have a pain on my left side is it a cramp? I've never had one before and I don't know what they feel like. I'm 13.

Yup. Those are menstrual cramps. Welcome to womanhood, girl!! ;-)

You can try taking some Midol, or using a heat pack on your lower tummy to help ease the pain.

Yep...that's probably what it is. A word of advice from someone who has been going through it for thirty years now... start taking something for the pain BEFORE the cramps get bad. After they get a hold, it's really hard for anything to make you feel better. My method is to take ibuprofen the day my period is supposed to start, whether it has started or not, and then take it regularly for the first couple of days. (Usually by the third day, cramps aren't much of an issue for most people)

.A pain on the left side could be another health problem ,such as appendix. Press on the tender spot and release it quickly. If the pain is made worse you may have a problem rather than just normal period discomfort ---EITHER WAY GO TELL MOM RIGHT NOW OK Sweetheart !

you could be feeling ovulation (when the egg goes down the falopian tube)... you'll know if your having cramps everywhere down there hurts.... or you might not feel much of anything... if you feel ovulation your in tune with your body! thats good!
