My friend and I are having a debate about whether or not women get offended when men stare at their breasts. I don't mean in conversation but say you're walking down the street and the people walking by are looking at your chest. I walk past a lot of women on my way to and from work at the train station and I can't seem to help but look at their chests. I try not to stare in the hopes of not getting caught looking and offending anyone but I just love to look.

Well I will answer this one. I think that some women want the attention and almost suggest that you look at their breasts. By this I mean the clothing they wear. I don't think a woman should be able to complain when half her breast is hanging out of her tank top. Sorry ladies but it's the truth if you don't want men starring at your breasts cover them up. Now with that said I will tell you that it no longer bothers me to have my breasts starred at (I have always had large breasts). I get starred at no matter what I am wearing but I do cover up when I am out in public. My breasts are for my husband to look at only. Just take into consideration when you are starring that you will be starring at someones wife, girlfriend, or daughter.

Well, they are kind of "right there," not far below eye level, so I'm not surprised that mens' eyes wander there. There's a difference between someone just looking for a second and staring, of course. But I find men just kind of look and then look away (or my favorite, look up to see if I caught them looking--lol--we see you, boys).

What IS offensive to me is when a guy is looking at my body and knocks the guy next to him with the back of his hand as if to say, "Hey, look at that!" That's when I feel like they've completely disassociated from the idea that there is a person behind the boobs. It's too overt, it looks like they don't even care if I know they're oggling, and certainly don't care how I might feel about it.

Awwww, this question is adorable! You know what, if a guy looks at my chest I can honestly say I'm not offended as long as he doesn't blatantly stare for too long. I understand that guys like to look...and I also know I've been guilty of straying eyes a few times ;)

I think the biggest difference is just how it's done. If a guy glances, no big deal. If a guy stares and yells "Oh my god, you have AMAZING ****!" (that happened to me once), then that's not cool. Just be respectful and you'll be fine.

Well men cant help that.. because of course their men, and breasts is something that is very sexual in the american culture. Also if a woman has a pair of big breasts walking down the street, everyone will stare, rather than look at someone who has b cup sides breasts.

I dress in a way that purposefully gives little impression of my breasts. You're not going to see much. It's none of your business. Go ahead and look, you won't see them. My husband, however, thinks they're spectacular. Good enough for me.

More specifically, I think it's disgusting for men to obviously ogle and stare. Some are worse than others. But if a woman is comfortable showing them I believe she should without having to endure scorn, perversion or abuse.

I suppose the way you describe it, "trying not to stare in the hopes of not getting caught, and offending, etc.", I guess it is ok.
I personally don't like getting ogled, and I especially hate it when I am walking behind my 24-year-old daughter and I see men undressing her with their eyes. I get absolutely enraged because the lust is so obvious.
Because of my age, I obviously get fewer looks than I used to (although my husband says he sees men staring at me all of the time, and points them out to me!), but it is uncomfortable for me when I catch someone staring at my breasts or butt.
So I guess my answer is, yes, I am offended.

well, if you walk by and stare for too long, then some women may think you're a perv. Some women think it's flattering, and I don't mind, as long as guys don't stare for like ever! But DON'T stare when you're talking to them! And if you think you might ask them out don't stare! But if you're not going to ask them out or anything, then sure, why not. Because, if you stare, then ask them out, women may think that you like them for their breast. hope I helped!

For some reason it makes me uncomfortable and angry. Not because I'm insecure about my appearence, but because I feel as though its sort of rude. I know there's no way to hide them, but I should be able to wear what I'd like without having my boobs being stared at. Because I know what most men are thinking...

Whenever a few of us are gathered together and the subject is raised, they say "Legs and bums we can understand, but baby-food yearnings in a man is a complete Freudian mystery."
