this is called an emotional affair...you may not even think it is an affair but it is...when you spend time effort and energy on the net communicating with someone you are getting a benefit from it and that benefit is emotional in nature..it is easy to communicate with this person because the two of you have no bills to pay no kids to raise and no expectations of one another....even if you are just sharing day to day things this is stuff you should talk to your spouse about not a stranger..and this begs the question WHY DO IT good luck

Because it could be the beginnings of an affair. Why would my spouse want to communicate with someone on the net...when he can be talking with me!

truly, there is no room for "jealousy" in any relationship, and i can't remember ever being jealous in one.

i think that with all the stories of people having emotional affairs on line, and then some of them getting together in person, many women today might wonder what is going on.

communication lacks in most relationships, so if there is an issue or problem, they ignore it instead of talking with their spouse. the relationship breaks down and people tend to stray. i guess it's easier to neglect the relationship than to face and try to resolve issues.

meanwhile, the internet is a good place to meet people, i suppose, and you can find any type of person you'd like. so if a man might be in the market to cheat or have an emotional or physical affair, it's likely the easiest resource for that sort of thing.

i'd venture to guess that people with stable, sound marriages don't have spouses who lurk on the internet looking for companionship.

that's my take on it, anyway

To me this would not be about jealousy it would be about respect. Many people start out innocently talking on line and get intrested in meeting them in person. Communicating online these days makes it very easy for people to cheat on a marriage. You can connect so easily with someone and allow anything to happen. If my spouse started doing this I would not like it. Why open yourself up for temptation for any reason if you are in relationship with anybody you care about?

they might be jealous of the time not being spent with them. or they might feel insecure of there spouse talking to another person. Like what are they getting from the person on the net that they can't get from me. talk about it, it might help.

Maybe because so many marriages have ended in divorce because of the romances that develop on the net but the way I see it, if somebody's going to be unfaithful, they're going to do it regardless of the internet or not. I'd rather my husband be on the internet than in the bars...and if he screws it up, oh well, see ya pal!!!

Well, that is quite a common problem in marriage:( Anyone will tend to feel insecure if their spouses start to pay more attention to someone else:(

if there is no risk in it... why should anyone be bothered to waste our peaceful life and getting jealous and worried and tense becaus eof their action..?

that means... there is major risk on this. This is how my bf started to change after 6 yrs with me. He started the chat on net... then slowly phone.. then meet... then ....

sit and talk to him... try spend more interesting time with him. plan for more activities.... tell him that you feel not secured.

hopefully he understand and realise before he screwed up the love life with you.
