I would call and talk to your Dr. If you are pregnant you want to let you Dr know so he can make sure your medication is OK for the baby.

No the antibiotic will not make the test show up positive.. There are hCG hormones in your urine that are making the test show up positive and those hormones are the pregnancy ones.. Call your doctor and let them know that you are pregnant or that you have had 2 test show up + and see if they want to give you a different antibiotic.. I was prescribed Microbid the other night by the hospital for my UTI during pregnancy..

No antibiotics do not affect pregnancy tests. But you should let your doctor know you are pregnant because you need to make sure that the antibiotic you are on is safe in pregnancy.

No, the only thing that causes a positive hpt is the presence of the hcg hormone, which is only produced in pregnancy. UTI's are common in pregnancy and you can take antibiotics for them. However, I would contact your doctor right away and let him/her know you have a positive hpt in case they need to give you a different antibiotic. Congratulations!

okay, i am going to go crazy because this is something that all women should know about their birth control..the antibiotic makes your birth control pills less effective. chances are, you are pregnant..i can't imagine an antibiotic giving you a false positive..besides false positives on a home pregnancy test is actually quite rare. I hope you are happy and ok with being pregnant. Lot's of things can make your birth control more likely to fail..st john's wort (herbal depression supplement) antibiotics.....both reduce your pills effectivness. Hope everything works out well.. call your doctor.

I have a friend who got pregnant in February while she was on her birth control pill, she was taking antibiotics for something that caused her birth control to not work. She still had her monthly periods and everything, she didn't even know she was pregnant til she started complaining of stomach pains and her mother took her to the hospital where they did a sonogram and found out she was pregnant. So yes, it's very possible that you could be pregnant.

No. The antibiotic wouldn't do that. But you need to stop taking it immediately because it might harm your baby. Call your dr. and ask what they want you to do. They will either say, finish the antibiotic or they'll give you a new, fetus-friendly one.

Congratulations!!
Have a happy, healthy baby!

I don't think the antibotic can have an affect on your pregnancy test. I would go to the Dr. and have him check me out. Congrats!!!
