Yes. Sometimes the dream chasers need a big dose of reality hitting them in the face. What's worse is when they truly expect you to help them fund what ever it is they have dreamed up and can't understand why you would hesitate or be reluctant to go along with the whole idea.

don't blatantly smash their dream. but maybe you can beat around the bush with objective questions. ask what kind a clients would be interested in this new idea. how many years would it take to make a profit? are they willing to put money and time into something that has a chance of failing? ...etc.
and don't lend them money for this scheme of theirs.

I might express I'm not as confident in the idea as they are and I would definitely not put any money in to the venture, but as long as it's not going to physically hurt them, it really wouldn't be my place to do more than that. Who knows, maybe you're wrong and she will make a fortune!

Tell them of concrete concerns about the project and offer constructive advice about developing a businees plan, but if the idea is totally wacko and you think so, just say hey man, I can't see it but I hope you are 100% successful.
