Hi, you can do so by going to Start --> Run and write down services.msc. It will open the services list of the Windows, look for server service and double click on it. On the startup type menu, select "Disabled" and then restart your machine.

Regards

If you open network connections and then view properties (assuming you are on windows) you can simply remove "File and Print Sharing" on the network list.

From control panel click network connections, double click your network adapter then click the properties tab. Just highlight the "File and Printer Sharing" and click the uninstall tab.

That will end all file shares from your computer. You can add it back at any time so the change is not permanent.

It has no ill effects whatever on the rest of the services.
