I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid SE and i think that a fuse in my car has gone bad. I have a fm transmitor for my ipod and it doesn't work and i just changed the fuse in it. So i think my cigarret lighter fuse went bad. Is there a way to tell the fuse is bad? and i don't have a cigarrete burner to test it with.

Use a test light. On the top of the fuse there are contacts[gray in color] Check the fuse on both sides. If the test light lights only on one side, then the fuse is bad.

pull that fuse out and look at it if its bad you can visually see it usuallly...

also it can be tested with a continuity tester, Schucks, Auto Zone and Pep Boys etc. any auto parts store can do this for free for you...

or since fuses are cheap by a combo pack with various amperages in it and replace it with the same color amperage of fuse

but never go higher in amperage than what the factory recommends for that circuit it can and will damage the wiring harness
