Yup, we have the Click It or Ticket law. I've never gotten a ticket for not wearing mine, but they will pull you over for it and it's a pretty hefty fine too.

yes, but I think It is a very stupid law I mean I wear them. But who gives them the authority to tell you what to wear when you pay the taxes, the insurance, and have bought the car. And some medical reasons you can't wear a seat belt but your still forced to.

Ayep - and they just raised the fines here in NY, too.
I think with the surcharges and original fine not wearing your seat belt could cost you a minumum of $110 now.
My honey's ex just got busted for that.... I tried not to laugh out loud.

Been talkin to three Libertarians, eh? ;-) specific i think of it would be needed, if no longer on your very own stable than for the stable of the state. The financial outcomes of dropping a efficient member of society over something so trivial as taking 3 seconds to positioned on a seat belt outweighs the guy's suitable to be neglegent to no longer point out the value to scrub your brains off the line or (God keen) the better scientific cost might desire to you reside. ETA: i'm doing properly thank you. i did no longer propose to disparage all Libertarians. in basic terms the "authentic believers", those college young little ones at espresso shops who've examine one e book by utilising Ayn Rand and swear that they have got had some style of epiphany. I used to to be considered one of those punk college young little ones who observed the sunshine and located libertarianism, till i theory approximately specific matters slightly extra heavily. Slowly I found out that Libertarianism could sound great on paper yet its hopelessly naive with know to certainty. Seatbelts are a great occasion. One could think of "Wow. the government incredibly is in basic terms bossing me around with rules that if broken harm no person yet myself! NANNY STATE NANNY STATE!!!" it is not till you do the maths and notice that loss of productiveness hurts the marketplace as an entire, the upward thrust in social centers on your dependents additionally places a economic burden on the persons, besides using fact the coroners and docs that would desire to get entangled might desire to an twist of fate happen. How've you been?
