Try to convince her to rent it, And let her play it. To see there is nothing wrong with it.

I'm sure she doesn't question your ability to play, but she does question the theme and graphics. She also might have a problem with, you know, guns and violence. You may not think it is a big deal now, but so many of the kids who took guns to school and shot and killed their classmates and teachers got a lot of practice for their shooting sprees by playing lots of video games with heavy weaponry. Perhaps you might be different, and it won't affect you.
HA! Wrong. So much violence does and will affect you. As you get used to practicing shooting weapons and killing other characters on screen, walking down the street and killing anything that moves will become your first solution to solving your problems in real life (happens every day in gang neighborhoods across the nation). Your first thought in dealing with a person who bugs you will be killing him or doing damage, rather than considering something like forgiveness. You will be ready to become a killing machine when your number comes up in the next draft for the armed forces for the next war.
Sigh.
Your mom has every right to be concerned that her 11-year-old boy wants to learn all about violence and nothing about solving problems that don't involve death and destruction as solutions # 1 and 2. The only way you can change her mind is to start showing some signs of maturity, such as being willing to help others, making friends with those who have 0 friends (you'll be discovering lots of those in junior high!), being willing to volunteer helping people in need through your church or community service group. Balancing the bad of the game with something very good might help her relent a little, but that all comes from you, not her.
A real man steps up to face his responsibilities, admits when he is wrong, and is willing to show compassion for others.
(That's the way it is in this world!)

I would assume that's it's about the gore and violence? If you feel like you're responsible enough to play the game and still have fun, I don't see much of a issue. Everyone is going to witness death at some point. Whether it's on the TV or real life.

Ummm, good luck on that one. Most moms won't let kids play Halo, let alone 11 year olds.

Might have better luck asking if you can take the car out to go cruising!

You can tell her that those arent real people,

Tell her that its only about aliens and that no humans are shot

You can say it has an educational storyline

You can say they are freedom fighters or something stupid like that
You can say your almost a teenager and you will see this anyway

You can say that nobody really dies

and you can always just say you well never imitate it

Tell her that you're mature enough to handle it and that you've learned you lesson about violence. She needs to know that you won't want to shoot everything up even when you're not playing Halo.
