To answer your second question first, yes there will be another season of Smallville (according to TV Guide they will be introducing his cousin aka Supergirl).
Season Finale: Lana threatened to leave LEx who said he would never let that happen (at he end of show her car explodes). Lois while investigating the Super Soldiers is stabbed. She calls Chloe who finds her and cries because she died in her arms. The tear brought Lois back to life but Chloe was unconscious. Clark had a showdown with the creature of the Phantom Zone (somehow the force was expelled and it created Bizarro)
