New floor mats (car) smells gas. Is that common? and how to get rid of the smell?

Just bought a new floor mats yesterday from Target (Rubbermaid brand). I didn't notice the smell untill I put those mats in my car and drove the car for a while. Is that common? How to get rid of the smell?

They do have a smell, just air them out for awhile and see if that is better, or that the hose to them and let them air dry.

Yes, that's common. It's much the same as new tires, they smell for a while when new. Remove from the car & place on a rack, [backing side up] outside in the shade for a couple of days.
