Maybe so .. I guess that the idea of the jelly beans was aimed at Zaheer like that , However very poor and stupid childish form by the English ....
Shades of Schoolboy prank stuff .. The Indians had the last laugh anyway .. Did not do England much good did it ..

THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE JELLY BEANS
In county cricket, bowlers are known to use sugary candies and sweets to alter the condition of the ball, to make it heavy on one side so that it could wobble in the air.
Zaheer made the ball talk on the first day - a wet, wid day when the conditions were favourable for swing bowling and England slumped without a fight.
The jelly beans in Nottingham were therefore an attempt to needle Zaheer with the implication that his performance on day 1 was not entirely legitimate.

Because it is tampering with the wicket!
Needless to say it is unsportsmanlike, what business does a jellybean have on the field of play?
Lets just say that England would not pull that BS if Ricky Ponting was at the wicket ............. and Collingwood further comment on pink/blue beans maybe underline some sexuality based bullying.....

Well Indians can not take jokes. Besides Zaheer could have collected every single jelly bean and gifted it to cook or KP as a match souvenir so that England can cherish their loss!

This was done to distract the concentration of the Indian players. It is a part of their Sledging.
I also play cricket and understand why this has be done. However, this is not the way to distract the players, One can sledge without abusing or doing these cheap gimmicks.

I assume it was a form of sledging, The term used in cricket for putting the batsman of is concentration, However in the rules of cricket sledging has been banned because it is not in the spirit of the game, The spirit of the game is to promote the game of cricket in a sportsman type fashion, to be played with skill and good mane-rs. (Yeah Right if you play cricket you will know that it is not a gentleman's game at all)
