Take a light solution of water with car wash. Take a sponge that you can purchase in car places. Than wash over the spots on your chrome billet. Than try with a paper towel. I do that with my car.
For the windshield. I used 1 qt water to 2 spoon full of vinegar. Than take a leather cloth that you also can purchase at a car store. The leather is a little bit harder and thougher material. But great for cleaning the windows. That's what I use to clean my windshield.

Windex window cleaner works on glass and chrome.
Also a solution of water and vinegar work very well. Equal parts of water and vinegar.

Vinegar and water works about as good as anything.
