I noticed that also with a bunch of lime green towels I recently bought.

I washed them in detergent as usual, but I added 1/4 cup of baking soda to the wash. This helped to neutralize and rid the odor from the towels.

Febreeze makes a nice laundry additive--not the spray but a liquid that comes in a bottle like laundry detergent.

Baking soda also works well. Arm & Hammer (baking soda co.) also makes a laundry detergent that removes most odors.

you in all risk left them interior the showering gadget moist for too long a pair of situations. you apart from could could desire to be including too plenty detergent once you wash (it is going to actual improve on your washer, so which you do no longer could desire to apply as much as time is going on). attempt including Oxyclean to the wash some situations, and it may help get that funky smell out. you will be able to additionally attempt baking soda (a million cup) interior the wash, and do one extra rinse cycle.

Sometimes that happens to me if I forget that I put them in & they sit for a day - I just re-wash them with vinegar & baking soda & it seems to work just fine.

(it is normal for it to bubble at first when they are mixed so don't panic - it won't ruin your towels!)
