George Bush - "Either You're with us or you're against us"

Theodore Roosevelt - "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else. "

I agree with both of them. They are talking about different issues in a different time. But let's concentrate on Teddy for a moment. He says, "nothing but the truth should be spoken about the President". Then why do the liberals so often speak out right lies and hate rhetoric. To say the President isn't doing a good job, is an honest opinion, but to implicate the President in a 911 conspiracy is in fact treasonous and reprehensible.

I agree with both of them. Neither comment contradicts the other. They are taking about different things. Bush is talking about fighting against terrorists and TR is talking about criticizing the president. You can be against the terrorists and criticize the president at the same time.

Teddy would stomp a mudhole in W's butt for being such a fascist little prick.

TR was a fascist in his own right, but the quotes are nonetheless pure gold.
