Nearly every time i go inside to order from FcFonalds or Jurger Jing, or Schmaco Schmell, I see this neon blue light in the back near the kitchen. what is it? a big bug zapper?!

WOW! thanks everyone, hahaha, i never would have thought they were really bug zappers, hahha! well, that was a kick in the pants. thanks guys. i hope those things aren't lethal to humans, they look pretty big.

Yes, it's for catching lfies etc - I think they're a legal requirement (certianly some level of pest control is)

To be honest, they really are bug zappers. Many kitchens have them and they work pretty well. It kinda sounds gross but to be honest having them stops a lot of bugs getting near the food. I dont agree that the lights should be in view of the public eye though. That would gross me out.

yep the blue attracts them. i used to work in a kitchen and we would call out the total of the day everytime we heard a *bzzzt* good fun.

Actually they are ultraviolet lights used to help reduce the spreed of bacteria. required by many health codes.
