I live in Virginia & need to have a diamond cut down-anyone know of a diamond cutter in VA or nearby?

the diamond ring is old and has worn edges and also a crack in it. I'm afraid to send it off to NY so I would like to find one in driving distance. has anyone ever sent on through the mail-how do I know it is safe and the company is reputable?

I would go to several of the reputable jewelry stores in your area, and ask them who they would recommend. If you find 3-4 stores recommend and deal with the same company, odds are they would be trustworthy.
