I usually get mine from:
Food Lion
Lowe's Foods
Harris Teeter
or even Wal-Mart

and if you had never heard of the first three, it's because they're generally regional stores.

1. Local farmer markets are far and few when it comes to availability and accessibility. Grocery shops on the other hand are numerous and often within walking distance for many people. 2. Any actual existing farmers markets out there are at least an hour or two away drive for many people in the cities. Why would they constantly drive so far just to get groceries.. when their local grocery shops are just a few blocks away and have similar items?? 3. Very EXPENSIVE. Local farmers market foods are not aimed at those who have to juggle with paying mortgage, bills, expenses, etc etc. Perhaps once in awhile when budget allows it, a working mother who has two jobs can afford to go to the local farmers market to buy groceries for her family. In a perfect world, we would all be eating farm raised livestock and garden vegetables + fruits. In the reality that we live in though, we are often stuck with eating what is more readily available to us.

I usually do wal-mart, but sometimes I go to Food Lion for the sales. I only go to Lowes Foods occasionally. Harris Teeter is too far away for me, but I have been there.

We only have two grocery stores in my town, and this one is usually not as busy as the other and the prices are competitive.
