It appears that if the oil and gas bill passes then the losers are asking the president to veto it...I thought the American "democracy" was supposed to be the model for the world...doesn't appear to be a "democracy at all..a one man rule..isn't that called a "dictatorship or fascist state..why do the two house even sit?..tell this foreigner why the president doesn't just save time and run everything...please do not resort to "liberal" or "mind your own" or insults to answer tis question...and for those that love to point out spelling mistakes, there is one there for you.

Bush doesn't give a **** about what is good for the American people, he is there to protect the oil interests. People need to stop expecting him to act like a leader, because he isn't one. He is a greedy little loser.

The Clintons have a historic previous of breaking their marketing campaign supplies. No sane president could pull the troops out of Iraq, as they have the innovations to be responsive to the repercussions could be dire. (Ergo, if a democrat gets elected and does pull the troops out, (s)he's insane.) Hillary or whomever the democrats positioned forward as their candidate, in the event that they win the election will by surprise (as in the 1st few months) discover out that Al-Qaeda is in Iraq and has plans for a Caliphate based there (quickly till they are able to set it up in Mecca) and consequently we can returned have a countrywide pastime and prefer for troops there. Mark my words. the reason could be stated fairly diverse, however the end result would be a similar.

If it were a good bill then the congress can override the presidents veto and the bill will become law. The presidents power to veto gives him a check on the congress who would pass whatever the want. This bill is not a good bill. It is a tax on the oil industry because they made a profit. A redistribution of wealth. A leg into socialism. When the ELECTED representatives pass a worthwhile bill it will be signed.

when you call people losers I already don't respect you or your question because name calling shows your not intelligent enough to handle a conversation.
I think they are just vetoing it because there were some things that need to be changed it happens in politics, it's not that the idea is bad just the execution of it needs to be changed to make it better before they will vote for it.
Do you think he should just bow into crazy ideas, you are very uninformed about the world around you by the way you worded this question.

Do you know anything about how our government works? See, there's this thing called "checks and balances." If both houses can get enough votes (2/3 in each), then they can overrule the veto...if enough of our ELECTED officials approved of the bill, then it would be a law.

The President is working in the best interests of the country. He is working to protect one of our most vital resources, oil. Our country is literally powered by oil. It could be more valuable then water.
We are a democracy. But like sparring lovers, one side will win over the other. This time it is the President.

Sure, actually this president has used the Veto button less than any other president. When something comes to him that is not going to rip off the American public he will sign it. All is not as it appears.

Its called checks and balances. Congress can still over-ride the veto if they have the desire and the votes.
Also, more people voted for Bush than any of those representatives, so isn't it more democratic to allow him control. :)
