karz is right, asrock makes a great board that supports the lga 775 socket core 2. It also supports ddr and ddr2 memory. The max on both is 2 gig and you can only use either ddr or ddr2 not both at the same time. Also, it has an agp port in addition to the pci-e port so it is the perfect upgrade path for those of us with a limited budget.

My set-up:
asrock 4core vsta board
e4400 core 2
2x 512 corsair xms dual channel
agp nvidia 6600gt

PCI-E motherboards can support DDR RAM, but they no longer seem to make DDR supported motherboards (since they all want support for Core2 Duo or Socket AM2). If you have a P4 type processor I can recommend trying to find a used P5GD1 motherboard. Try Ebay! http://ebay.com

There are a few motherboards on the Intel LGA 775 platform meeting your requirement but none on the AMD AM2 platform. Here is one:

Other models using VIA chipset have a x16 PCIe slot but actually runs as x8 only.
