It was technically invented in Greece way back but the modern pizza containing the tomato sauce was invented in Italy. The Greek only used oils and cheese

I think I know the story you're talking about, but it really depends on what you mean by "pizza."

Many sources trace the dish to Greece, where flatbreads with various toppings have a long history. Still others go back as far as the Babylonians or Phoenicians.
However, the tomato-and-cheese pizza with which we are familiar has its origins in Naples, Italy, in the late 1800s, when a baker created a special version of the traditional plain, flat pizza bread for Queen Margherita. (Italians still refer to the pizza we're used to as "Pizza Margherita.")

As the grandson of Italian immigrants, I stick to the Italian version of the story. A lot of people have baked flatbread over the course of history; that doesn't make it pizza.

Pizza, like so many other foods, did not originate in the country for which it is now famous. Unless you have researched the subject, you, like so many people, probably always thought Pizza was strictly an Italian creation.

The foundations for Pizza were originally laid by the early Greeks who first baked large, round and flat breads which they "annointed with oil, herbs, spices and Dates."

Tomatoes were not discovered at that time or, very likely, they would have used them as we do today.

I thought the first pizza was made in Sicily
but apperantly i was wrong it's greece
Ancient Greeks ate a flat, baked bread with assorted toppings called plankuntos. This flatbread may have been a derivative of something Babylonians ate in earlier centuries.
