Cut the piece that has the hole in it out and get a couple of compression fittings,go to your local auto store get a section of line, more than likely 3/8in line and when your there they'll go into more detail on how to do it.And it wouldn't cost near $400 for your local garage to do it,they chage around $60 an hour and it's about a 40min job.

The safest method would be to start at the master cylinder and run complete lines back to the left side wheel and across the rear sub-frame and connect directly to both rear brake hoses. The lines come in straight lengths and require metric to regular conversion fittings.
Any car that's 13 yrs old has "shaky-rusty" brake lines. I'm not making a joke concerning your dilemma but to be absolutely 100% safe do a complete job. If you install pieces to correct a leak theres bound to be really nasty rust wherever the lines are normaly hung by the standard attachment clips.

Brake lines are custom bent to fit. You just buy replacement line of the appropriate length and bend and shape it until is is the right configuration. You will need some specialized tools for working with brake line repair though and if you don't have them don't even attempt a repair. It also helps a lot to have the vehicle up in the air, not just on jacks.

Just have a shop do it if the other line blows.

Pep Boys did the most efficient repair, and you should go back to them to repair the new brake failure. It should cost around $400 to replace a rusted section of brake line and then bleed the brakes.
