The inauguration of the television scheme coincided with former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai's birthday. Similarly all great leaders of the past were being remembered in a befitting manner. On Periyar's birth anniversary, the two-acre land for landless farmers scheme would be launched in Tiruvallur. A law was enacted to declare former Chief Minister Kamaraj's birth anniversary as Educational Development day, he said.
you will realise why free TV sets for citizens of poor socio-economic class are good. The TV sets can be resold by the recipients to buy a bicycle, clothes, sewing machine or to serve as micro-finance to start a venture.

In fact, free TV sets are better than free money. The fact that a large number of people will have to be provided employment for manufacturing of television sets, in order to distribute them to a large population, makes it better than free money. Free money does not ensure employment for the recipient or others.

The DMK in Tamil Nadu announced free TV sets, apparently to garner votes in the forthcoming election. Given the current economic affair of the state, this promise is also a good economic policy. The voters should not be made to feel used, as they will, by non-deliverance of the promise.

TN people are movie crazy. That is why, only those involved in cinema can become CMs. Politicans know the wekness of TN people. Sun TV is owned by MK and by giving TV sets, Sun TV viewers can expand leaps and bound. That is their strategy.

By giving toilets or water, politicians will not gain much. Possibly, that is what happening throughout the country. So, possibly, TN is a trend setter.

See the number of actors and actess involved with Dawaood and other criminals. See Sanjay Dutt, he was jailed only for 6 years and all media across the country is supporting that actors turned criminal. Why is that media and people not condemning him, it is becauise hole of India is movie maniac. Only a strong dictator like Hitler can save India.

A sensible question and it is very difficult to answer. Anyhow I wil try to explain. In a Toilet only one person can use it at a time, whereas in a TV show any number of people can see the programmes. In toilet people will use it and forget the usage of it after sometime. But in TV shows, they will all discuss and wait and see more programmes. In TV programmes you can see the Political partys face and they can canvass vote for their election, but in Toilet nobody nobody can come and canvass Hope you will understand the meaning of Toilet and TVs now. They don't have to maintain the TVs. They would have to provide toilets with water and cleaners, too many people dont flush.

The govt employed toilet cleaners would keep the toilets as clean as the roads and dust-bins. They wouldn't care. And the people would keep the toilets as clean as the roads thowing trash everywhere.

A fairly hopeless situation! :-(
