I'm not American zarzoorner. I’m sorry because I confuse the American people with the American government. Jacob for me you don’t want to see the truth about your country past. Thanks for your answers.

they don't want to own the world, just all of the world's oil and natural gas, or access to it

or we would have invaded a lot of other countries where the people are suffering a lot more than the Iraqis ever did under Saddam, or who actually have operational (instead of mythical) WMD...
but no oil or natural gas, or access to either

like Iraq and Afghanistan both did

I can understand why you think this way and have asked this very good question.
As an American, I personally don't like it that my country seems to always get involved in the business of other countries around the world.
America has enough problems of it's own and I would prefer that the tax money that is taken out of my paycheck, before it even reaches my pocket, gets spent on taking care of the needs of the American people. Period!
A good example would be spending my tax money on making sure the thousands of unsafe bridges in this country are made safe so there are no more accidents like the recent one we just had.
I also would not mind if my tax dollars supported our armed forces to protect my country against attacks that might occur on our own soil. I can't see how sending our soldiers to Iraq and Afghanistan is protecting my freedom. We are already a free country! We fought for our freedom years ago and won. Why continue fighting for it? Makes no sense to me.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world thinks that all Americans are like our President and we're not. He's a poor example of what the American people are really like.

You statement flies in the face of reality. Do you remember hearing about WWI & WWII? At the end of those conflicts, the victorious United States of America could have easily occupied and taken over any country in the world. There was no one to stop us. Instead, we set up a government in the defeated countries that allowed the citizens self-determination through a democratic style government.

America gave them money to restart their devistated economies and rebuilt them. Those former enemies, such as Germany and Japan are economic powerhouses and enjoy the fruits of freedom.

If America wanted to be the "owners of the world" they had golden opportunities to do so. They did not. No other country in the world can make that statement.

The fact is, we are the only country in the world that had the opportunity to take it over and chose not to do so. Instead, we shared the fruits of liberty with and befriended our former enemies.

America is one of the few countries that has enough nuclear, long range, accurate weapons to wipe other countries completely off the map without risking a single ground troop. Again, we do not do this, do we?

We would have never invaded Iraq had they not invaded Kuwait. That war was stopped by an agreed cease fire. Had Saddam not violated the terms of that cease fire agreement for nearly ten years, he would still be in power today.

This is the most powerful country in the world. We know that. We understand that power. We are very reluctant to exercise that power because we know what we are capable of. We would just as soon have the rest of the world live and let live.

But there always seems to be some meglomaniac in the world that mistakes our desire for peace for lack of resolve. Who mistakes our love of life for fear of death. Who mistakes our high standard of living for weakness. Such people feel the need to test us. They do so at their own peril.

EDIT: Are you saying that anything in my reply is untrue?

First of all, that's not what most Americans want. Our government has been hijacked by a bunch of Jesus freaks who are trying to start Armageddon so The Rapture can happen.
Second, businesses want to make a profit at the expense of human life, they have few morals or scruples. Check mout Bechtels actions in Bolivia in the late 90's. They bought the water rights for the whole country so theonly way to get water was to buy it fro them.
Completly disgusting and i hope they burn in hell for it.

Did somebody say prejudice?

Believe it or not, not every American is money grubbing, lazy and stupid.

No we're not all brainwashed by this shitty @ss presidency and most of us are nice people.

Stop being ignorant and look on the other side of the spectrum.

It is not the Americans, rather the British. The behavior of the British is still barbarism. They are still not civilized. They rule over the world one time. They think it is still the same. They are in a mistaken. The British should be abolished from this world if one needs to tackle terrorism. They create terror and blame others as terrorist. They terrorize the staff even in the UN system.
