I want to get one of these games but I don't know which one to get. Please tell me which one I should get. Which one has more players, and better items and overall a better game?

Most folks will recommend either Prophecies (the first one) or Nightfall. I enjoy Factions, but it is the shortest of the campaigns. If you really enjoy the game, you'll want to buy all 3 anyways. A lot of effective builds require skills from all 3 campaigns. But, you can still enjoy the game with only 1 campaign.
Prophecies - Medievalish European like setting. The first game. Longest. Nice variety of landscapes. 6 core professions.
Factions - Asian setting. Shortest. 2 extra professions, the Assassin and Ritualist.
Nightfall - African setting. nice storyline. 2 extra professions, the Dervish and Paragon. The one thing about Nightfall that make folks recommend it is Heroes. Heroes are customizable computer characters that are attached to your character and can accompany you on quests and missions.
Personally, I'd start with Prophecies. My personal preference is always to start at the beginning. (Although I actually bought and played Factions first). If you have a friend that's already playing then buy the campaign that they own so you can play with them ingame.
If you have more than 1 game, your characters can move freely between the games. They all integrate well together into 1 giant world.

Well as you may know they are all stand alone games.... and eye of the north is going to be a pure expansion so if you bought it you would not be able to play on it.
So Factions is possibly the worst guild wars ever for a number of reasons including the classes you can play as.
The normal one is good and long and i recommend this if you have not played guild wars before.
Nightfall in my opinion is by far the best so far because of all of the new things that have been introduced e.g being able to use hero's etc
So if you have played an MMO be for i suggest Nightfall But if you are new to MMO's then get Prophecies (Normal)

you will no longer could purchase Guild Wars (Prophecies), or Factions to play dusk. dusk in my own opinion is the main suitable marketing campaign, and Prophecies is the worst...nicely it gets extra useful. yet i would not initiate with Prophecies because of the fact the initiating section is the main uninteresting, collectively as Factions and dusk supply you the action proper away.

You should wait for the newst one I think it is called guild wars eye of the north but im pretty sure eye of the north will be better.
